An artist, musician, filmmaker and occasional actor, Larry Rivers was best known as a revolutionary - deliberately opposing the prevailing movements of the time for the thrill of challenging the status quo. In a career which spanned over 50 years, he is consistently identified as a Pop Art pioneer and one of most important artists in the figurative tradition.
