b. 1971, Saint Maries, ID Matthew Brannon explores the gulf between social ideals and personal crisis by incorporating graphic art aesthetics in his works. Screen printing gives his images both the suggestion of mass replication and aura of original artworks. When he combines visuals with text, his pieces directly challenge the void between language and actuality, illustrating the potential for dysfunction. SELECTED PUBLIC COLLECTIONDenver Art Museum, CO
