b. 1942, Brooklyn, NY
A pioneer in the SoHo art scene of the 1960s and one of the leaders of the Photorealist movement of the 1970s, Ben Schonzeit is best known for his still life paintings of flowers. By contrast, his recent works feature miniature watercolor portraits, as masterfully created as his immense, photorealistic paintings.
